Week 4 March 2010:  Rain = 1.5 millimetres

This week we are still in Sydney awaiting the arrival of a new grandchild. On Wednesday 24th March our new granddaughter arrived. Baby, parents and grandparents are all well. Two days after the birth we brought mother and baby home to their place.

On a less important note we spent some time looking at catalogues to gauge the prices of laptops. There was a very good price on an HP Pavilion dv6 2120TX laptop. This was at a retailer that does not have a store in Armidale. We approached the Dick Smith Store (DSE) in Parramatta about matching this price and they came to the party. We have a Dick Smith Store in Armidale so this will be handy if we have any problems. We also bought the Microsoft Office Home and Student software for a very good price. We did not intend buying a laptop until later in the year but the price was too good to miss. We had excellent service from the people in DSE and we would recommend this store to anyone purchasing electronic equipment.

We also visited relatives in another part of Sydney. We have become more confident navigating and driving in Sydney’s traffic.

Our new granddaughter has settled in well and on the weekend it was time to head home.

We had two days at home before the end of the week. The large grassy area, to the north of the house, was mowed. A Spotted Gum, Eucalyptus maculata, was flowering in the garden and the blooms were being visited by a number of butterflies.
