Week 3 June 2015: Rain = 29 millimetres very welcome rain. House tank filled to overflowing again and soil moisture level topped up.

Our Hakea nodosa is flowering. This attractive shrub has yellow flowers.

We made a few trips to Armidale this week for shopping and various appointments. Coupled with cold and overcast days meant that not a lot of horticultural activity this week. To keep warm we split a fair bit of firewood.

Wildlife observations: A pair of Striated Pardalotes spent some time in a tea tree near our back patio. They kept opening closing their wings whilst perched on a branch. We have not observed this behaviour before. A flock of 11 Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos flew over one afternoon. We also saw a pair of Cockatoos flying over Armidale during our shopping day.
