Week 3 February 2010: Rain = 12.5 millimetres   Once again our house tank overflowed. Some of this surplus water was diverted to our irrigation tank.

Two plants burst into bloom this week. One was Callistemon kenmorrisonii and the other Melaleuca elliptica. The former is a rare Bottlebrush from Victoria and the latter is one of a great number of colourful Melaleucas from Western Australia.

Most of our week was spent spraying weeds with Glyphosate and hand weeding around our new plantings.  The good rain since Christmas has meant that all plants are growing rapidly including weeds.

This week we saw a Black Snake in one of our gardens. This was a small specimen, about one metre long. We have not sighted many snakes this summer.
