Week 1 January 2012: Rain = 21 millimetres

We started the New Year by digging holes, planting 31 tubes and weeding. New plantings were watered from our grey water tank. This supplemented the rain that fell this week.

Many plants are still blooming and lighting up our Yallaroo garden. Of particular interest was a form of Kangaroo Grass (Themeda australis) with reddish flowers and our Angophora costata tree.

We are still picking beans from our vegetable area and planting more seeds to ensure a supply through summer and hopefully into autumn.

We visited our friends from Canberra one afternoon. A pleasant time was spent wandering around their developing garden, east of Yallaroo.
