Olearia erubescens: is a member of the Asteraceae family and is known as the Silky Daisy Bush.
Olearia erubescens is an erect shrub that will reach a height of 1.5 metres. Shoots and young leaves may be red. Adult leaves are elliptical with prickly margins. In spring and early summer large clusters of white, daisy flowers appear. There is also a form with pinkish-mauve flowers.
Prune regularly to keep plants compact.
Olearia erubescens is found in coastal and tableland areas of New South Wales as well as Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
The specimen illustrated was growing in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.
