Grevillea_Fireworks.JPG (35217 bytes)Grevillea Fireworks: is a member of the Proteaceae family. This is a hybrid whose parents are Grevillea alpina and Grevillea Scarlet Sprite.

Grevillea Fireworks was developed by Bywong Nursery in southern New South Wales. This nursery has developed an amazing range of Australian native plant cultivars including Correas, Grevilleas and Leptospermums.

Grevillea Fireworks is a small shrub that will reach a height of one metre with a similar spread.

The leaves are soft and blue-green. Flower heads are carried on the ends of short branches and are bright red and yellow. Plants become covered in blooms from autumn to spring. A light pruning, after flowering, is appreciated.

Grevillea Fireworks is an outstanding hybrid with beautiful flowers that are carried for long periods. Honeyeaters are attracted to the nectar-rich flowers.

This hybrid would be an outstanding addition to a native cottage garden.

An eye-catching, low informal hedge could be created by using alternate plants of Grevillea Fireworks and Grevillea Lemon Daze, another Bywong Nursery release.

Propagate from cuttings.
