Callistemon_Pink_Champagne.jpg (60490 bytes)Callistemon Pink Champagne: Callistemons are members of the Myrtaceae family and are commonly known as Bottlebrushes. Most varieties flower from late spring into summer. “Pink Champagne” dares to be different and flowers sporadically throughout the year with the main flush in mid-summer when the other Callistemons are resting. This splendid Bottlebrush will grow into a dense shrub about two metres tall, with stiff, aromatic leaves and large, deep pink brushes. The flowers fade as they age so that at any given time the plants carry brushes of various shades of pink. Honeyeaters are attracted to the flowers. “Pink Champagne” is a hardy and colourful plant suitable for shrubberies or native hedgerows.
Propagation must be from cuttings to maintain the desirable characteristics of this cultivar.
