Acacia covenyi is a rare plant from Southern New South Wales. This tall shrub has foliage with a silver-blue tinge and rich golden spring flowers. The combination of foliage and flowers creates a stunning combination in the garden. It is one of the most eye-catching native shrubs at Yallaroo. Although rare in nature this species is becoming available from nurseries. Some seed companies have the species listed in their catalogues. Acacia covenyi has proved to be fast growing, frost tolerant, drought resistant and free flowering. This wattle is a classic example of the twin aims of conservation and cultivation to ensure the survival of plant species. Propagate from both seeds and cuttings.
